Kafundó Records is back with the second volume of their compilation series. Keeping in line with the theme of the 1st compilation, this 2nd edition aims to highlight the latest in contemporary Brazilian electronic music, refracted through the lens of an alternative Brazilian social reality.
Because today, Internet-networked Quilombos surviving off of self-contained food systems, while growing Baobab trees from seeds transplanted from across the ocean are real. And, all of the songs on these compilations are pretty much a metaphor for that reality! Using technology and music each of the artists in the series present a new vision and possibility for Brazilian society as a whole. In summary, borrowing from local roots culture and (re)mixing it with international digital pan-Africanism, Kafundó music is #AfroBrazilianFuturism at its finest!
Once again, Kafundó Records founders Maga Bo and Wolfram Lange have done their best to bring you a broad cross-section of this exciting new movement. Download the latest compilation now at any of your favorite digital stores.
