Robzilla’s “Calling All Worlds” Mix

Mastermind behind the “Calling All Girls” single and remix EP, Robzilla has just put together a new mix to help promote the latest release. All this is in the lead up to the release of his full length collaborative album with Matt Shadetek from their sessions recording at Big Yard studios in Jamaica.

Here’s what he has to say about the mix:

It happens in a backroom or a basement. People stream in looking nice, but never too nice. They’re going to sweat. The selector comes with the tunes — new joints, exclusive joints. The deejay recognizes the room, knows the crowd, knows how to take them there and back again. Calling All Worlds is where all that converges… the tunes and energy and the voice of the deejay.

The mixtape was recorded live at Zilla’s studio in the East Village… the neighbors know these tunes well. Zilla and Jah Banks have been working together across Brooklyn and the city…  Zilla runs tunes and Jah holds down the microphone. It’s not a traditional dancehall set — they’re playing EDM, Afropop, rap, and house… highlighting amazing producers (Ape Drums, Deejay Theory, Jus Now) and new sounds from Jamaica, Trinidad, London, San Francisco, Lagos, Brooklyn, Houston, and Honolulu.

Check out the Calling All Girls remixes EP, and look out for the full length album sometime next year!
