#SayTheirNames: A Fundraiser for the Victims of Pulse Nightclub

The tragedy that struck Pulse Nightclub in Orlando last Saturday has rocked the core of queer & trans people of color communities.

In a show of solidarity and to raise funds for the families of the victims – some of New York City’s QTPOC deejays (including members Ushka and Riobamba of Dutty Artz) who foster queer spaces have organized this event and will deejay sets to honor the Latinx and Black queer family who have passed in Orlando.

In an interview in Paper Mag, the organizing crew (made up of Ushka, Riobamba, Oscar Nñ of Papi Juice, Battyjack of #KUNQ, and Cremosa) representing Latinx, Black, Caribbean and South Asian communities, said the following:

“We are all deeply affected and humbled by the Pulse Nightclub tragedy, and as people who spend a lot of time fostering club spaces that are safer for QTPOC, we feel moved and obligated to support the victims and their families in the best way we know how: by bringing people together. This violence is deeply personal for our communities and we want to hold space for that.”

Please join them at C’mon Everybody THIS SUNDAY 6/19 from 12pm – 6pm to celebrate queer spaces, the joy of the dancefloor, and nightlife as sanctuary for so many of us.

We invite you to come share space, laugh, cry, and dance your heart out to honor those at Pulse. We will be reading out the names of the 49 that were lost to senseless violence.

SUGGESTED DONATION: $5 and up (we ask that attendees donate what they can to help victims families –100% of all door proceeds will go to families; we will publish exactly where we will be sending money in the coming days)

C’mon Everybody will also donate 20% of proceeds from the bar.
